It’s a transparent organic pigment from the yellow to orange zone of your color wheel. More staining than Yellow Ochre and equal in tinting ability to Raw Sienna. It’s a good substitute for those colors when transparency and non granulation is desired while avoiding thick, muddy passages.

Starting with 10 parts water to 1 part paint (by weight) in the palette, our chemist paints the top half of the swatch uniformly with a round brush to show the paint’s color and characteristics. For the bottom half, he dips a ¾” flat brush into the paint well just once, then applies the color in stripes until the brush is dry, which shows the color’s tone and behavior through a wash. We use these swatches for color matching during the manufacturing process.

Pigment: PY 97, PY 110 | Series: 1
Lightfastness: I – Excellent
Transparency: Transparent
Staining: 2-Low Staining
Granulation: Non-Granulating

//cdn.shopify.com/s/files/1/0840/2662/2125/files/0eff6c38-Daniel-Smith-Tube-S1-New-Camboge.jpg?v=1791678631
https://www.paletteartsupplies.com/products/daniel-smith-extra-fine-watrecolors-15ml-tube-new-gamboge-series-1
