Hansa Yellow is considered the ‘perfect yellow’, offering more control when mixing. Painters admire the purity of this primary pigment and ability to adjust its temperature while avoiding a gray from a hidden complement. Think of a yellow pepper.

Starting with 10 parts water to 1 part paint (by weight) in the palette, our chemist paints the top half of the swatch uniformly with a round brush to show the paint’s color and characteristics. For the bottom half, he dips a ¾” flat brush into the paint well just once, then applies the color in stripes until the brush is dry, which shows the color’s tone and behavior through a wash. We use these swatches for color matching during the manufacturing process.

Pigment: PY 3 | Series: 1
Lightfastness: II – Very Good
Transparency: Semi-Transparent
Staining: 2-Low Staining
Granulation: Non-Granulating

//cdn.shopify.com/s/files/1/0840/2662/2125/files/d5d56fc4-Daniel-Smith-Half-Pan-S1-Hanza-Yellow-Light.jpg?v=1791678638
https://www.paletteartsupplies.com/products/daniel-smith-extra-fine-watrecolors-1-8ml-half-pan-hansa-yellow-light-series-1
