Our unusually pure pigment is mined in Russia, south of Moscow. Rich and warm, DANIEL SMITH Goethite is a dark tea color in masstone and washes out to a rich, warm tan. In washes, it displays intriguing granulation, with pools of light and dark in every brushstroke. Like all colors derived from the earth, it is lightfast and permanent – a lasting connection to the planet and the creative forces of nature.

Starting with 10 parts water to 1 part paint (by weight) in the palette, our chemist paints the top half of the swatch uniformly with a round brush to show the paint’s color and characteristics. For the bottom half, he dips a ¾” flat brush into the paint well just once, then applies the color in stripes until the brush is dry, which shows the color’s tone and behavior through a wash. We use these swatches for color matching during the manufacturing process.

Pigment: PY 43 | Series: 1
Lightfastness: I – Excellent
Transparency: Semi-Transparent
Staining: 2-Low Staining
Granulation: Granulating

//cdn.shopify.com/s/files/1/0840/2662/2125/files/39f5691c-Daniel-Smith-Half-Pan-S1-Goethite-Brown-Ochre.jpg?v=1791678639
https://www.paletteartsupplies.com/products/daniel-smith-br-extra-fine-watrecolors-1-8ml-half-pan-br-goethite-brown-ochre-series-1
